ANTHUS presents Calidoscòpic in Barcelona
A singer, a composer, and an arranger, Anthus has become established as “The Crooner of the Mediterranean Jazz”. An accolade given to him by numerous critics.
After 2 years work in the studio, Anthus proudly presents “Calidoscòpic”, his most autobiographical work to date. This highly eclectic album is the result of a veritable torrent of creativity in which Anthus fuses contemporary jazz with Mediterranean sounds, pop and even some rap. On ten songs of the album, on four of these, Anthus uses his voice as instrument, and four are sung in Catalan, one in English and one in an invented language, a fusion of Catalan, Sicilian, French and Neapolitan.
In short, a whole world of sounds through the filter of his own life experience, what can only be called his personal kaleidoscope.
“Calidoscòpic” is a faithful reflection of Anthus’ very being, an album in which Anthus proves to be a restless, creative artist, who is constantly engaged in his quest to elevate jazz to its highest expression. In “Calidoscòpic” we meet a unique vocalist who is rooted in the Mediterranean on his lifetime mission to reveal his jazz soul.
