Elio e Le Storie Tese
* by Alice Torriano
Irreverent, sarcastic, inimitable, Elio e le Storie Tese announced their first European tour that will pass through Madrid on March 14 of 2017 and the following day, March 15, at the Sala Razzmatazz 2 in Barcelona.
Elio e le Storie Tese born in Milan, founded by Stefano Belisano (better known as Elio) in 1980. They begin their journey among the clubs of Milan like the Magic Music Meeting and Zelig, but soon they became more and more famous with television appearances in Mai dire Gol with Claudio Bisio and Zelig comedy program.
The true popularity came when in 1996 they participated for the first time at the Sanremo Festival with the famous “Terra dei cachi”, gaining the second place, and the Critics’ Award “Mia Martini”.
Success continued in Europe. In 1999, they were awarded as Best Italian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and in 2003 they won the Best Italian Videoclip award at the Italian Music Awards of Federation of FIMI.
EelST now one of the best groups of independent Italian music, are an explosive mix of rude, coarse humor in contrast to their extreme varied and competent musical talent. In their songs sometimes called “demential Rock” they often hide a social criticism that bring the satire to another level.
So, get ready for a picturesque and colorful concert, and as they say ..
If we meet around while we are on the bus or airplane, flash the headlights, so we can say goodbye as Italians who meet abroad do, and find exciting that one is from Pistoia and the other from Vicenza. Hello! See you abroad! You know, where there’s that little bar in the square in front of a yellow building with the graffiti.
